Farris Brawley Jr.

Rev. Farris Brawley Jr., 79, went home to be with the Lord May 31, 2009. Reverend Brawley was born April 29, 1930 in Lockhart, Texas to Farris and Willie Lee Brawley. He was united in marriage to Minnie Lee Brown August 4, 1983. In a previous marriage to Eddie Lou Brock, who preceded him in death, one child Kenneth Brawley was born. Farris was baptized at an early age at the First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Farris Brawley Sr., mother, Willie Lee Brawley, and sister, Julia Faye Jones. Reverend Brawley was a member of Mason Lone Oak Baptist Church and served as assistant pastor to Reverend T. C. DeShay. Reverend Brawley is survived by his wife Minnie Lee Brawley, son; Kenneth Brawley of Austin; sister Annice Brawley , two brothers; William Brawley, Clarence Brawley, all of Lockhart, Texas, three grandchildren; Shannon Brawley, Candice Brawley, and Crystal Brawley, one great granddaughter; Brooklyn E.Brawley, one sister-in-law; Hester Brawley, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 6, 2009 11: 00 a.m. at Mason Lone Oak Baptist Church with Rev. T. C. DeShay officiating. Interment will follow in the Brite Cemetery. Serving as the pallbearers will be: Marcellus Moore, Anthony Brawley, Gregory Brawley, Rathers Asberry, Sam Pamplin and Keith Cheatman. Honorary pallbearers will be William Brawley, Clarence Brawley, Phillip Jones,Fred Dukes, and George Ellison. The family wishes to thank Warm Springs Specialty Hospital in Luling, Texas and St. David’s Hospital in Austin, Texas staffs for their excellent care of their loved one.
