Vernon W. Christie Jr., 78, of Lockhart passed away peacefully in Austin on November 13, 2009. Vernon was born on October 3, 1931 to Vernon W. and Blanche Soto Christie in San Antonio, Texas. He had retired from the Air Force in 1978. Vernon was preceded in death by his wife, Frances E. Christie, in May of 2004. He is survived by his three children; Vernon W. Christie and wife LeeAnn of Austin, Tx, Eric Christie and wife Nancy of Richmond, Tx, and daughter, Jill Christie of Dale, Tx; Seven grandchildren, Lauren Hunt and husband Sam, Michael Christie, Rabecca Christie, Kayla Rodriguez, Daniel Rodriguez, Jonathan Christie, and Patrick Christie.
