Eeds Funeral Home's Staff

C. Beirne Eeds, Funeral Director

Beirne Eeds is recognized as someone who continually strives for excellence in how the funeral industry serves its community.

This tradition of excellence and service was instilled in Eeds as a young boy, growing up under the tutelage of his beloved uncle T-9 (Tillotson Beirne) Field, working at his uncle’s funeral home in Lockhart. His father, Carroll Dean Eeds taught his children that helpfulness was the most important quality a person could have. The children learned there was always something helpful to do - from polishing brass doorknobs to driving in the funeral procession.

In college, Eeds studied classical mortuary sciences at Commonwealth College in Houston, Texas and graduated in 1968. One year later he completed his provisional program and was granted a license as a funeral director and embalmer. He returned home to work in the family business.

For the next 35 years, he served as funeral director, sole proprietor, and manager for Eeds Funeral Home, which he purchased from his uncle in 1969.. In this role he has initiated community outreach programs such as offering free funeral services to policemen, sheriff, sheriff deputies and firemen killed in the line of duty.

Eeds is recognized as an articulate spokesperson and personal friend and advisor both for the funeral industry and especially to the families he serves. He is always available as a speaker at programs designed to educate youngsters and their parents on death related issues.

Eeds resides in Lockhart, a fact he very proud of since this is the place of his birth.. Mr.  Eeds has two daughters and two sons, and five grandchildren.
