Aurelia Castilleja Gutierrez

Aurelia Castilleja Gutierrez, 74, of Lockhart, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018. She was born in Robstown, Texas on May 1, 1944 to Juan Castilleja and Guadalupe Castillo.

A viewing for family and friends will be held on Thursday, May 10, 1-5 p.m. at Eeds Funeral Home with Rosary from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with burial following at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lockhart.

Mrs. Gutierrez was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Guadalupe Castilleja and Santiago (Jimmy) Castilleja; and a sister, Gloria Chairez (GoGo).

She is survived by her sons, Santos Gutierrez, David Gutierrez (wife JoAnne), James Gutierrez (wife Juanita), Samuel Gutierrez and Alex Gutierrez (wife Mercy); her daughters, Rosemary Castillo (husband Pedro Castillo), Velia Morales (husband Rogelio), Lorena Navarro, Christine Gutierrez and Melissa Guscar (husband Bradley); 22 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews; her brothers, Jack Castilleja, John Castilleja and Joe Castillo; and sisters, MaryElena Hernandez and Carolina Mendoza.

Serving as pallbearers will be her sons, Santos Gutierrez, David Gutierrez, James Gutierrez, Samuel Gutierrez, Alex Gutierrez, and son-in-law, Pete Castillo.
