Betty Geneva (Pruitt) Fehlis

Betty Pruitt Fehlis was born in Lockhart, Texas on May 16, 1935 to Altha Guthrie Pruitt and Ollie Lee Pruitt. 

Betty married Baldwin Charles Fehlis on October 23, 1953. They recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with family.  Las Vegas was one of their favorite places to visit.

Betty attended Lockhart High School before studying at UT Edinburgh (Pan American University) and graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Education.  Betty taught school for over 40 years in Brownsville and San Antonio.  Betty loved gardening and sewing as well as spending time with family. She also loved traveling in her spare time. 

Betty passed away peacefully on December 5, 2023 at the age of 88 years old.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Altha and Ollie Pruitt, her brother, Ollie Lee Pruitt Jr. and her sister, Francis Lee Pruitt.  Betty is survived by her husband, Baldwin Fehlis; son, Charles Alan Fehlis and daughter, Brenda Fehlis Williams; grandchildren, Travis Reid (Britney) Williams and Addison Williams; and great-grandson, Travis Luke Williams. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at 1:30 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Maxwell, Texas.
