After the completion of his time in the Navy in 1967, and now married, he and his wife moved back to Austin. After the Navy, Don took a job at Jefferson Chemical Company in Austin, Texas. The company soon changed names to Texaco Chemical Company and later to Huntsman Chemical. Don retired in December of 1999.
Don lived a long and happy life and enjoyed his family. He was active at his church, Rosedale Baptist Church, for many years where he served as a deacon. He worked hard and developed an expertise in everything he involved himself in. At the time of his passing, he and Doris were members of Hyde Park Baptist Church in Austin.
