Today, we gather for the Homegoing Celebration of Dorothy Mae Brite. Her life’s journey has come to an end. Currently, with the pain of heavy hearts, feelings of loss that has overcome us, knowing this is temporary. Her memory and love will forever resonate in our hearts and minds. May her spirit empower us today and forever. Dorothy transitioned from this life on November 30, 2023, at the age of 88. Dorothy was born February 10, 1935, in Gonzales County, Texas to James Howard and Rosetta Parramore Williams. Dorothy lived most of her life in Luling and Lockhart, Texas. Dorothy was a kind and loving person, straight forward and feisty, but never without grace and love. Her home was your home, but you had to abide by her rules. Dorothy was the mother of eight children, and she was married to Willie Nathan Brite for more than 48 years. To all of those who knew her as Dot, Sister, Aunt Dorothy, Mom, and Granny, she will surely be missed, and her spirit will always be in our hearts. May God’s Holy Spirit enlighten each one of us. May we know that each one of us live in a temporary home (earth). God is still on his throne and is waiting for us to come to join Him in our heavenly home.
