Linda Diane Castleberry

Linda Diane Castleberry was born January 19, 1944, in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.

She went to her eternal resting place on July 4, 2020.

Linda was married in 1962 and had 3 children, Brandi Payne, Brent Payne, and Keary Payne, and all three were her pride & joy.

Linda married Larry Castleberry, the great love of her life, on July 27, 1978 and eternally &most affectionately referred to one another all their days as, “SHDLBP”.

They would have been married 42 years this July. Linda always wanted to provide the best in care and love to Larry, and he adored her likewise.

Linda & Larry settled in San Antonio after they were married.

Linda worked for the American Cancer Society and the Muscular Dystrophy Association and did phenomenal fundraising efforts for these much worthy organizations.

Later in life, Linda & Larry moved to Matthews, North Carolina.

They were long time members of Myers Park United Methodist Church.

At church, Linda was dedicated to her work on the Labyrinth team.

She helped with Labyrinth set up throughout different seasons of the church year.

Linda was preceded in death by her sons Keary Payne and Brent Payne.

She is survived and mourned by her devoted husband Larry, his son L.D., and grandchildren, Dan ,Gil, and Liv, & his daughter Bettie, her husband Charles, and grandchildren Autumn, Hayley, and Charlie , daughter Brandi, grandson Brandon, granddaughter Lin & her husband David, and beloved great grandsons Daemon & Merrick.

Funeral arrangements are being made at Eeds Funeral Home in Lockhart, Texas. 512-398-2343

Linda will be laid to rest on Friday, July 10, 2020 at 10:30 A.M., with a graveside service, at Bunton Cemetery in Dale, Texas.
