Lyndon Homann Obituary

Lyndon Ray Homann of Lockhart passed away on April 8, 2023, at the age of 79.  He was born on June 17, 1943 to Fritz and Marie Homann in Georgetown, Texas and grew up in the rural Caldwell County community of Mendoza, where he was very active in 4-H and FFA.  He graduated from Lockhart High School in 1961 and served in the Army National Guard of Texas for 6 years from 1964-1970.

Lyndon worked for 40 years in the printing industry, starting in 1961 at Steck Printing Company, then continuing his career with Steck-Warlick, Best Printing Company and eventually Hart Graphics where he retired in 2001 after 26 years of service.  Throughout his career, he was respected for his hard work and dedication.

In 1962, Lyndon met the love of his life, Donna Teas, and they wed in 1966. Together they had two daughters, Glenda and Marcia.  He loved his family deeply and was always there to share his guidance, work ethic, common-sense, and knowledge of life and ranching with his children and grandchildren.  He took great pride in their accomplishments and the people that he helped them to become.

Lyndon wore many hats as a husband, father, grandfather, rancher and volunteer. He was formerly a director for Niederwald Farm Mutual Insurance Association and most recently, a director for Independent Cattlemen’s Association of Texas and Caldwell County Farm Bureau.  He was also a lifetime director for the Caldwell County Fair Association.  He spent many years volunteering for the Caldwell County Jr. Livestock Show, where he was awarded Friend of the Year in 1999.  Family, friends, and neighbors could always count on Lyndon to lend a helping hand when needed and chat with you about cattle, crops, and the weather while doing it.

Lyndon was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Larry Homann.  He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Donna Homann; sister Janet Odell and her husband Alvin;  daughters Glenda Homann, Marcia Frey and son-in-law Kris Frey;  grandchildren Justin Staudt (Adriana), Jeremy Staudt (Katie), Jordan Staudt (Jessica), Cole Frey and McKeana Frey; great-grandchildren Braxton, Bradley, Reid, Aubrey, Lyndon Lee, Gus, and Logan; and nephew Charles Phillips.  He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Services will be held at Eeds Funderal Home on Thursday, April 13th at 11am.  Visitation will be Wednesday,  April 12 from 5-7pm.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Caldwell County Jr. Livestock Show made to Caldwell Count Fair Association, PO Box 1046,  Lockhart, TX 78644.
