Obituary for Nancy Lee Baker
Nancy Lee Baker of Red Rock, Texas passed away on May 27, 2023 at the age of 81. Nancy was born in Glendale, California on April 14, 1942 and spent the majority of her childhood and early adult years near Athens, Georgia. After spending a few years in and around Redmond, Oregon, Nancy moved to Reno, Nevada and lived there for 47 years working and raising her family before moving to Red Rock, Texas in the summer of 2021.
Nancy loved being around children and spent the majority of her life working as a caregiver in daycare facilities in the Reno area. Nancy adored her grandchildren and enjoyed reading, walking, and doing puzzles. Nancy was married to Lansing E. Baker (Joe) for 32 years until his passing in 2017.
Nancy is survived by her two brothers, Lee and Randy Gray who both reside in Georgia, her daughter April and son-in-law Jan Michael Showalter of Seattle, Washington, her son Tom and daughter-in-law Monica Schroeder of Reno, Nevada, and her son Harry and daughter-in-law Helena Schroeder of Red Rock, Texas. Nancy is also survived by her ten beloved grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held in the future at a date to be determined.
