June 10, 1945 ~ November 4, 2016 (age 71) 71 Years OldJames Harold “Jimmy” McMurtray, 71, of Lytton Springs, passed away on Friday, November 4th, 2016 in Austin, Texas.
Graveside Services will be held at 1:15p.m., Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Ft. Sam National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas.
Jimmy was born in San Diego, California to Ray Oliver and Pauline Maskew McMurtray on June 10, 1945. He married the love of his life, Susan Verona on April 25, 1987 in Red Rock, Texas. He worked as a Postal Carrier for the United States Postal Service for 20 years. He was a veteran of Vietnam War and served in the Marines and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents.
Jimmy is survived by wife, Susan McMurtray of Lyttton Springs, 3 brothers: Charles McMurtray of Seattle, Washington, Robert Frazier of Thailand, Alvin Hix, Jr. of Bulverde, Tx, 2 sister: Betty Frazier of San Antonio, Shirley Jenkins (Greg) of San Antonio, and numerous family and friends.
